Every Customer Comes Back

Bounceback™ turns one-time visitors into regulars — automatically, via SMS, without adding anything to your to-do list.

The Problem Most Local Businesses Won’t Admit

You’re spending money to get customers through the door. Google ads. Flyers. Instagram posts. Word of mouth referrals you’re hoping happen on their own. And it’s working — people are coming in.

Then they’re gone.

Acquiring a new customer costs five to twenty-five times more than keeping an existing one. That’s not a motivational poster — that’s a published research figure, and it’s been consistent across industries for decades. Every dollar you spend on new customer acquisition is five to twenty-five dollars you’d be spending if you had a retention problem instead. Most local businesses have a severe retention problem. They just don’t measure it, so they don’t know.

The average business loses 20 to 40 percent of its customer base every year. Not because their product got worse. Not because a competitor opened up next door. Because nobody followed up. Because there was no system to bring people back. The customer came in once, had a fine experience, got busy with life, and never thought about you again. That’s not their fault. That’s a gap in your operations.

Coffee shops, hair salons, restaurants, nail bars, yoga studios, dog groomers — they all share the same problem. The owner knows their regulars by name and genuinely loves the relationship. But the other 80% of customers? Total strangers. No names, no contact info, no way to reach them, no system for bringing them back. The retention strategy is hope: hope they liked it enough to return, hope they tell their friends, hope they remember you when they need what you sell. Hope is not a business system.

How Bounceback Works

Step 1: The Ask at Checkout

Your staff asks one question at the end of the transaction: “Want a text with 10% off your next visit?”

That’s it. No clipboard. No app download. No email signup form that sits in a drawer. Just a phone number and a yes.

Most customers say yes. You’re offering something free and useful, and you’re asking at the exact moment they’re already happy — they just had a good experience. Opt-in rates typically run 25–40% for businesses with warm, friendly checkout interactions. One in three customers gives you their number.

You now have a direct line to them that doesn’t depend on an algorithm.

Step 2: Bounceback Sends the Message

Within minutes of their visit, Bounceback sends a personalized SMS. Not a bulk text blast — a message that references their visit, thanks them, includes the promised incentive, and asks a single question.

Here’s what a real conversation looks like:

[Bounceback → Customer]

Hey Sarah! Thanks for stopping by Maple Street Coffee today ☕ Here’s your 10% off for next time: COMEBACK10. Good for 30 days. Quick question — how was your experience today? (Reply 1=Great / 2=Good / 3=Could be better)

[Customer → Bounceback]

[Bounceback → Customer]

Love to hear it! See you next time 😊

If a customer responds with a 3, Bounceback flags it for the owner immediately — before they leave a Google review. That’s your chance to fix it.

Every response is logged. You get a dashboard showing opt-in rates, response rates, return visit rates, and revenue recovered. Not vanity metrics — actual business numbers.

Step 3: The Nurture Sequence

One thank-you text is a good start. Thirty customers coming back is a business.

Bounceback runs a follow-up sequence timed to your business type. Day 3: a check-in. Day 7: a soft reminder with a different offer. Day 14: a re-engagement message if they haven’t returned. Day 30: a “we miss you” with a stronger incentive.

Here’s the day 14 message for a hair salon:

[Bounceback → Customer]

Hey Maria, it’s been a couple weeks since your last visit at Studio Blanche! We have a few openings this week if you’re due for a trim. Book online: [link] — mention RETURNING for $10 off.

The sequence stops automatically when they come back. No spam. No annoying over-messaging. The system knows when it’s working and gets out of the way.

The Math

Let’s make this concrete.

Coffee shop example:

– 50 customers per day × 30 days = 1,500 monthly customers

– 30% opt-in rate = 450 customers in the system

– 25% return rate improvement = 112 additional return visits per month

– $5 average return visit uplift (they order something extra because they have a coupon) = $560 in additional monthly revenue

More realistic high-volume scenario:

– 50 customers/day × 30% opt-in × $5 avg return visit uplift = $2,250/month in recovered revenue

– Bounceback costs $199/month

That’s 11x ROI.

This isn’t a projection built on hope. It’s arithmetic built on industry benchmarks that businesses see consistently when they have an actual retention system instead of no system.

A salon doing 15 appointments a day captures 135 customers a month at 30% opt-in. If 20% of them book a return appointment they otherwise wouldn’t have, that’s 27 extra appointments at $65 average — $1,755/month. Bounceback costs $199. The math holds.

Pricing

We built Bounceback for local businesses, not enterprise budgets.

Plan Price Contacts Messages/mo Best For
Basic $199/mo Up to 500 2,000 Single location, light volume
Growth $399/mo Up to 2,000 8,000 Established local business with real foot traffic
Pro $599/mo Unlimited Unlimited Multi-location or high-volume single location

How We Compare

Podium: $249–$599/month. Full-featured platform designed for multi-location enterprises. Heavy onboarding, lots of features you won’t use, built for a team of three to manage. Great product if you have the bandwidth. Most local owners don’t.
Birdeye: $299+/month. Similar story. Powerful if you need everything. Overkill if you need retention and reviews handled without adding to your workload.
Klaviyo: $150+/month for email, and you do all the work yourself. Build the sequences. Write the copy. Manage the lists. A/B test everything. Klaviyo is a tool. Bounceback is a service.

We configure everything. We write your message sequences. We tune the timing for your business type. You don’t log in to manage campaigns — you log in to see the results.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is this TCPA compliant?

Yes. Every contact in your Bounceback system has explicitly opted in by providing their phone number and saying yes to the text. We capture and store the consent record for every contact. Opt-out is handled automatically — if someone replies STOP, they’re removed immediately and permanently. We don’t send to contacts without consent, full stop. Compliance isn’t an afterthought in how we built this.

Who owns the customer data?

You do. Your contacts, your opt-in records, your conversation history — it all belongs to your business. If you cancel, you get a complete export in CSV format. We don’t sell your customer data to anyone, we don’t use it for advertising targeting, and we don’t use it to train models. Your customers trusted you with their phone number. We treat that with the same respect you should.

How long does setup take?

Most businesses are live within 48 hours of signing up. We need your business name, your offer (usually 10% off works great to start), and your preferred message tone. We write the initial sequences, configure the timing, and send you a test flow to approve. You do not need to write a single word of copy. Most owners spend less than 30 minutes total on setup — the rest is us.

What industries does this work for?

Any business with repeat-purchase potential and in-person checkout. Coffee shops, restaurants, hair salons, nail bars, barbers, yoga studios, fitness classes, massage therapy, pet grooming, auto detailing, dry cleaning, juice bars, bakeries. If a customer comes in, pays, and might come back — Bounceback works. It doesn’t work well for one-time purchase businesses (wedding photographers, home builders) because there’s no return visit to recover. If you’re not sure whether it fits, book the consultation and we’ll give you a straight answer.

Start Your Pilot — First Month Free

We’re confident enough in the math that we’ll give you the first month at no charge. One location, full setup, real results.

At the end of month one, you’ll know exactly how many customers opted in, how many came back, and what the revenue impact was. If the numbers don’t work for your business, cancel and you owe nothing.

If they do work — and they usually do — you’ll wonder why you waited this long.
